Campaign themes

2016

Carl's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

About Our Freedoms
Higher taxes mean lower freedoms for the tax-payer. Colleen is committed to lowering taxes and voting against further tax increases.

An advocate for individual liberty, Colleen is supportive of our right to keep and bear arms.

About Our Family Values
According to National Right to Life and the Guttmacher Institute, an estimated 57.5 million babies in the U.S. have been aborted since 1973. These numbers are heartbreaking. In the legislature, Colleen will be a champion for the pro-life cause.

Colleen will seek to protect our constitutionally upheld freedom of religion. As a person of faith, Colleen's worldview is shaped by Judeo-Christian principles that teach respect for life and traditional family structures.

About Our Future
Children are our future. An excellent education is paramount to their success in adulthood. Colleen upholds the standard that parents have the choice to educate their children as they see fit. Local school systems and administrators know their students' needs far better than Washington D.C., as such Colleen supports local control over federalized education standards.

As a small business owner Colleen is sensitive to the concerns of business owners, and eager for their success. This includes supporting our free market economy by advocating limited government and discouraging big government regulations.[2]
