Colleen Leary
Colleen Leary was an at-large member of the Chesapeake Public Schools in Virginia. She assumed office in 2014. She left office on January 1, 2023.
Leary ran for re-election for an at-large seat of the Chesapeake Public Schools in Virginia. She won in the general election on May 1, 2018.
Biography
Leary worked as an elementary school principal in the district prior to her retirement. At the time of her tenure, Leary was volunteering as the director of children's ministry at River Oak Church.[1]

Incumbents Christie Craig, Colleen Leary, Harry Murphy, Louis Tayon Jr., and Michael Woods faced challengers Gayle Gilmore, Sharon Johnson-Clayton, Patricia King, Bryan Miles, Luis Padilla, and Bradley Whitlow.

Colleen C. Leary sought election to an at-large seat against incumbents Christie Craig, Harry A. Murphy and Michael J. Woods and six challengers in the general election on May 10, 2014. Board members Bonita Billingsley Harris and Ann R. Wiggins did not file for re-election by the March 4, 2014 deadline.

Funding
Leary did not report any contributions or expenditures to the Virginia State Board of Elections prior to the election.[2]
Endorsements
Leary received the endorsement of the Republican Party of Chesapeake in March 2014.[3] The Virginian-Pilot also endorsed Leary ahead of the May 6, 2014 election.[4]
