Collis White is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.[1] He was appointed to this position on October 24, 2009, and his current term expired on October 23, 2017.[2]

Biography and education

Collis White received his B.S. degree in Theater from the University of Kansas. After seven years of acting, he attended the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. Upon graduating, he became a New York City police officer. He later received his J.D. degree from Fordham University Law School.[3]

Career

After receiving his law degree, Mr. White became an Assistant District Attorney working in Manhattan. He was then appointed an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas. He left this position in 1991 and worked as a private practice defense lawyer until his judicial appointment in 2009.[3][4]
