Two seats on the Colonial School District School Board were up for general election on May 12, 2015.
District B and District D were up for election. District B incumbent Ronald Pierce lost his re-election bid to challenger Margaret Kennedy.[1]
The District D seat has been vacant since the 2014 election, when the officeholder Melodie A. Spotts ran for the District G seat. No candidates filed to run in the election to fill the open seat.[1][2][3]
Due to the lack of candidates, the seat was filled via a board appointment in September 2015. Initial reports stated an appointment would be made by June 2015. The remaining term of the seat was up for special election in 2016.
