Colorado Fourth District judge to retire next year

Colorado: On Friday, July 9, Judge Timothy J. Simmons of the 4th Judicial District Court announced that he would be retiring on December 31 of this year and will continue performing with the Velcro Barbershop Quartet and the America the Beautiful Barbershop Chorus, in which he sings baritone. Simmons has served as a judge in Colorado for a total of 28 years, including 16 as a municipal judge and as a district judge since 1998. The Fourth Judicial District Nominating Commission will meet on August 13, this year, to interview and select nominees for Simmons successor, who will ultimately be appointed by Gov. Bill Ritter.[1][2]
