A Colorado Prohibition on Gambling Monopolies Amendment did not make the November 4, 2014 ballot in Colorado as an initiated constitutional amendment. The measure would have prohibited the state licensing authority from granting a license to conduct casino-style gambling if the license would result in a licensee's monopoly on one or more types of gambling within any county.[1][2][3]

Path to the ballot
Supporters would have had to gather 86,105 valid signatures by Monday, August 4 at 3:00 PM for the measure to appear on the ballot. However, a petition format for such an initiative was not approved making it impossible for the measure to be placed on the 2014 ballot.[4]
