An effort to recall Chairman Dennis Patch, Treasurer Valerie Welsh-Tahbo, and Secretary Amanda Barrera of the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT) was initiated in March 2016.[1]

The petitions, taken out by tribal member Fred Nelson, stated that the officials would not release financial information to the tribal membership. It also said that Patch "does nepotism and favoritism," citing the hiring of former CRIT Environmental Protection Office Director David Harper as a consultant and the failure to suspend or remove two council members that were allegedly arrested for DUIs.[1]

The recall failed when proponents failed to turn in the recall petitions by the May 3 deadline.[2]
