Community Affairs Committee, Florida State Senate
The Community Affairs Committee is a standing committee of the Florida State Senate.
Per the Senate Rules, committees of the Florida State Senate are assigned by the President of the Senate.[1] The rules do not specify when or how often committees are assigned. The President shall appoint a chair and vice-chair for each standing committee and subcommittee.[2] A majority makes up a committee's quorum.[3]

The Community Affairs Committee examines legislation in the following subject areas:

(2) In order to carry out its duties, each standing subcommittee has the reasonable right and authority to inspect and investigate the books, records, papers, documents, data, operation, and physical plant of any public agency in this state. |
