Don't be fooled by the slick talk. ACTIONS by CUSD School Board 1) CUSD didn't tell you we already OWE $92,000,000 from the last bond we approved Measure I in 2002, that bond won't be paid off for another 20-30 years. 2) CUSD didn't tell you that 9,343 students less students are enrolled NOW than 10 years ago. Less students means build new school? 3) CUSD didn't tell you we will close either Centennial or Dominguez or possibly both schools if they build a new Compton HS, they will also close 3 or 4 elementary schools. Putting kids on buses is better than neighborhood schools? 4) CUSD didn't tell you they received $49,090,759 in FREE grants to fix schools in 2015. What happened to the money? Are they using it correctly? How about spend the $49,090,759 then lets see what we need before you raise our taxes. 5) CUSD didn't tell you they received $97,420,262 EXTRA from the CA Department of Education the last 3 years, separate from the 49 Million in grants. What happened to the money? Are they using it correctly? CUSD didn't tell you that their NEW TAX will cost us more than the sticker price $350,000,000 with interest and payoffs the REAL cost is $769,343,500.[2] |
