Promote Financial Accountability. We are living in a time where the financial burden of inflation is hurting not only businesses, but families. Every dollar counts now more than ever. Gas prices are through the roof, food costs more, and although the suspense on the gas tax has helped some, it isn't indefinite and not doing enough to ease the financial burden. Suspending taxes, or increasing expenditures is not helping our District. I will help bring financial accountability back into the legislature, and put you first when it comes to how CT budgets.

Support Businesses. As someone who has owned a business for over 20 years, I understand the struggles businesses face. Now more than ever, they are carrying the burden of paying back federal loans given to CT during the pandemic, on top of having to deal with inflation, rising gas prices and the challenge of finding employees to hire at a livable wage. I will work hard to stop legislation from being passed that will hurt CT businesses.

Retain Local Zoning Control. The State’s approach of a one size fits all, take it or leave it mentality of how areas should be zoned will not work. The approach that needs to be followed is to inform residents on what is going on, engage them on issues like affordable housing, give them opportunities to be heard on these matters, and learn and work in a collaborative way to create common sense, community solutions that are meaningful and durable. People know their communities better than anyone.
Right now, I have been following the over taxation of businesses and the recent Heavy Use Tax that will fall on trucks over 26,000 GVW. Connecticut cannot continue to rely on the backs of our businesses. The Police Accountability bill that was passed the past session needs to be revisited as well.
-Fiscal Responsibility

-High work ethic -Works well with others

-Problem solver
Yes. Anyone running for any elected position on a state level should have some experience on a local level in order to understand basic procedures, general policy making and order of operation.
100%. Building relationships with other legislators is beneficial, especially if they represent neighboring districts. Collaboration is a major part of working towards a better Connecticut. If we don't grow in a positive direction with our colleagues, nothing can be accomplished.
