Connecticut: The state of Connecticut is hiring magistrates to hear and decide small claims cases. They are appointed by the Chief Court Administrator for a three-year term, though magistrates serve at most ninety days per year. In order to serve, one must be an attorney that has been a member of the bar for five years.[1]
