Election rules
General election
Only judges of the Connecticut Probate Courts participate in judicial elections. Candidates for the probate courts must live in the district where they will serve. Judges are chosen in partisan elections. Judges on the court serve four-year terms and must be re-elected when their terms expire.[1]
