Connie Stokes
Connie Stokes was a Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia in the 2014 elections.[1] Stokes had initially declared her candidacy for governor back in September 2013, but withdrew her bid months later in light of Democratic state Sen. Jason Carter's entry in the gubernatorial primary race.[2] After dropping out, Stokes endorsed Carter for governor and announced plans to instead seek the lieutenant governor's office in 2014.[3] Stokes ran unopposed in the Democratic primary and faced Republican incumbent Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle in the general election. Connie Stokes lost the general election on November 4, 2014.
Stokes works as a consultant and real estate broker.[4]
She previously served in the Georgia State Senate.
