The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is an independent federal agency established in 1972. It regulates a variety of consumer products under the authority of the Consumer Product Safety Act. The CPSC does not regulate motor vehicles, food, drugs, cosmetics, alcohol, tobacco, or firearms.[1]
