Contract Review Legislative Oversight Committee, Alabama State Legislature (Decommissioned)

The Contract Review Legislative Oversight Committee (formerly the Contract Review Oversight Committee) was a permanent joint interim committee of the Alabama State Legislature.

The Code of Alabama outlines how committees of the Alabama State Legislature are assigned. Some are assigned by the leaders of either chamber, while others are composed of specific leaders and committee chairs.[1]

“ The committee shall have the power to issue subpoenas for any witnesses and to require the production of any documents or contracts it feels it needs to examine in the conduct of its duties.[2][3] ”

“ The committee shall be composed of the Chairs of the Senate Finance and Taxation General Fund Committee and the Senate Finance and Taxation Education Committee and the Chairs of the House Ways and Means General Fund Committee and the House Ways and Means Education Committee, and three additional members of the Senate, to be appointed by the President of the Senate, and three additional members of the House, to be appointed by the Speaker of the House.[4][3] ”
