Ballot question

The ballot question was as follows:[2]

Shall the State of Illinois legalize the cultivation, manufacture, distribution, testing, and sale of marijuana and marijuana products for recreational use by adults 21 and older subject to state regulation, taxation and local ordinance? [3]

The Cook County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously (17-0) on December 13, 2017, to place the advisory question on the ballot for March 20, 2018.[4]
