Cooper Garnos
Cooper Garnos (b. October 19, 1965) was a Republican member of the South Dakota State Senate from 2007 until 2011, representing the 21st District. Previously, he served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 1999 to 2007.
Garnos worked as farmer/rancher from 1985 to 2000. He worked as a small business owner from 1991 to 2000. He has worked as a teacher for Lyman School District from 1992 to the present. He has also worked as president of Garnos Ranch Hunts since 1992.
Garnos earned his B.A. in Social Science Comp from South Dakota Wesleyan University in 1991. He went on to receive his M.A. in education administration from South Dakota State University in 1997. He then earned his Education Specialist Degree from the University of South Florida in 2004.
In late 2011, Garnos announced his intention to resign before his term expired. Governor Dennis Daugaard chose Kent Juhnke to replace Garnos.[1]

Garnos ran for re-election to the 21st District seat in 2010. He defeated Brandon Sazue (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010.

2008
On Nov. 4, 2008, Garnos won re-election to the 21st District Seat in the South Dakota State Senate, defeating opponent Charon Asetoyer (D).[2]
Garnos raised $15,338 for his campaign while Asetoyer raised $3,016.[3]
