|I was raised Catholic, and that has influenced many of my core beliefs. I have worked a wide range of jobs as I've grown, from starting on a relative's dairy farm to fast food, small engine rental and maintenance, local gas stations, rental apartment maintenance, phone survey interviewing, hospital admissions, and now managing and conducting research at a private university. I've learned a lot during that journey. I believe that everyone has a reason behind their beliefs, their own life story that influences them, and that's what makes us all unique. It's also what makes communities stronger, like what we have here in Northern Missouri.
My promise to you, if elected as representative, is to REPRESENT YOU. I may have my beliefs, but I have no right to force those beliefs onto an entire constituency, even if elected. My role will be to represent EVERY VOTER in District 3 that resides in Adair, Putnam, Sullivan, and Mercer Counties. It is the voters' decision on how I will vote and support legislation, not mine.- As I've been out listening and talking with so many of you across our district, something truly remarkable becomes clear every single day: we are a community built on strong connections, shared values, and a deep sense of care for one another. Think about it. When you're at the grocery store, cheering on our local sports teams, volunteering, or just chatting with a neighbor over the fence, do you stop to ask about their political affiliation? Chances are, you don't. And why? Because it doesn't matter in that moment. What matters is the person standing in front of you – a good person, working hard for their family, contributing to our local economy, and doing their part to make ends meet.
- Our rural hospitals are the backbone of our communities, providing essential care close to home. But they're facing unprecedented challenges, and a recent decision in Jefferson City is making things even tougher, especially for District 3. Missouri eliminated taxes on individual capital gains. While some argue this stimulates the economy, it comes at a steep price: an estimated $430 million reduction in our state budget this year alone, and $340 million in future years. This massive cut to state funding has direct, negative consequences for us. Specifically, District 3 has lost $7 million that was allocated to support our rural hospitals. This vital funding was earmarked for new equipment, much-needed renovations, and ad
- Many of our farmers are currently relying on federal bailouts to stay afloat. While these payments offer temporary relief, they are not a sustainable solution. We all know that true stability comes from a strong market and fair prices, not from a dependency on government checks that can disappear with the changing political winds. Our farmers are facing a perfect storm of challenges: Skyrocketing Production Costs, Volatile Markets and Trade Issues, Decreased Government Support, The Impact of Climate Change, Lack of Rural Healthcare.
