I am a Brunswick Native, a member of Brunswick High Class of 1987, a former Brunswick School Board Member, co-owner of Perreault & Daughters Construction, a Child Passenger Safety Instructor, mother of 2 amazing young women, Sarah & Hannah, and married to John Perreault.

I have worked closely with the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety for 23 years as a Child Passenger Safety Instructor; educating first responders, transportation providers, medical professionals, child care providers, parents, children, as well as the general public on safe transportation practices to help protect everyone while traveling on our roads. Besides providing education throughout Maine, I have been an active participant in all of the occupant protection laws enacted during the last 20 years. My husband and I have owned & operated Perreault & Daughters Construction in the Brunswick for 19 years. I was a member of the Brunswick School Board for 18 years. My family supports countless community organizations, athletic teams, and performing arts groups and I have volunteered hundreds of hours in Brunswick schools, for the town, and throughout the state. I live by the motto that we are at our best when we work to help each other.

  • I fully support and will fight to implement Universal Healthcare.
  • I am committed to the state honor their 55% commitment of school funding, to stop the continuous push down of education costs to the local property tax payers.
  • I support real job creation and will strive to create more good quality, high paying jobs through both educational/business partnerships in more regions of the state. and providing grants/no cost loans to increase vocational opportunities.
I am personally passionate about 3 areas of public policy:

Education - I spent 18 years as a member of the Brunswick School Board and fully believe an quality school department benefits the entire community. I also am passionate about meeting every child's education needs. We must learn from the successful education examples around the world and provide the best education possible to our children.

Transportation Safety/Occupant Protection - For 23 years I have devoted my self to educating the entire state on the importance of car seats and seat belts. Car crashes are a leading cause of death in America and with proper use of car seats and seat belts we could prevent thousands of deaths each year. Education is one of the leading ways to change behavior and save lives.

Universal Health Care - For the better part of the last 20 years my family has paid for 100% of our healthcare costs, including insurance premiums. We are incredibly fortunate to have been able to afford this benefit, but far too many in the United States cannot. Healthcare is a basic human right, and if this pandemic has taught us anything its that we all need good, quality healthcare NOW!
I look up to some of the amazing teachers that my daughters were fortunate enough to have. They are selfless, giving, talented people who want nothing except to inspire their students to do their very best in whatever their passion is. The most noted examples (but certainly from the only ones) are Ashley Albert (Choral Director at Brunswick High), Clark Porter (Math Teacher at Brunswick High) and Pamela Mutty (retired English Teacher & Drama Program Director at Brunswick High). All 3 love each of their students and support all of their dreams - they are amazing and examples of the best our education system. Not only do they each provide excellent classroom instruction, but the time they devote to their students outside the classroom in other activities to show each student that their whole self is important, not just one subject.

I look up to my Aunt Linda (Linda McMahon) who showed me how important it is to give of your time to your community. She devoted countless hours to the Freeport Rotary and Pownal Volunteer Fire Department before retiring to Florida where she immediately began servicing her new community. Not enough people give of their time and their talents, for many reasons, so it is vital for those of us who can to do so. Since I left the School Board in December of 2018 I have been looking for new ways to give back to my community. I hope that I have the opportunity beginning in January of 2021 to do so as Maine House District 49 Representative.

Honesty, accountability, ability to work with others, and passion. Most elected officials seem to lack the honesty, accountability, and the ability to work with others, sadly.
I am passionate, energetic, I have a can do attitude. I am caring and try hard to be selfless. I stay until a job is complete. I also understand my individual role while I can see the big picture as well - I try hard to benefit the majority but not hurt or take away from the minority, as much as possible.
To listen to and then speak for your constituents. To educate yourself on all the items you are voting on. To work with other members of the government. To be honest and fair.
I would like to be remembered as someone who cared a lot about my community and my state, and that I gave as much of myself as I could. If I am elected, after I am done serving I hope that the State is in a better place than it is now and headed in even a better direction.
The first historical event was the Bicentennial on July 4, 1976. I was 7 years old. I spent much of my summers at Worthley Pond in Peru, ME, as well as Rumford where my parents grew up., and that is where I was that summer too. The community put on a huge, multi-day celebration, including a watermelon eating contest which I won 2nd prize. I remember it being the first time I knew I loved America.
My very first job was as an usher during the summer at Maine State Music Theater. We were paid with tickets to an upcoming show which we could sell if we so chose. I worked there for 2 summers in the mid 80s. I had always loved movie musicals up to that point, but Maine State started my love of live theater which still is a huge part of mine and my family's today. I am a proud season ticket subscriber at Maine State Music Theater to this day.
I love the Harry Potter books - probably because the battle between good & evil. I love to hear when right wins.
Probably Hermoine Granger, from Harry Potter. She never needed to be in charge, she just always did the best she could help. Sometimes she was a pain, but she always cared about doing the right thing.
I love musical theater, so I guess Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked.
Thankfully I don't have many struggles. My youngest child had health issues during the last 2 years of high school, but she seems to have put that behind her. Owning a business, we struggle with hard economic times, like all other business owners. Ultimately I am fortunate to have all I need and some of my wants. I am a lucky person.
I believe in checks and balances - having 2 chambers provides that ability. The Maine Legislature represents small groups of constituents/communities, allowing their Rep to focus more closely on that groups needs. The Maine Senate represents multiple communities, requiring the Senator to focus on that entire region not just a particular neighborhood or town. We need to make decisions based on local needs, regional needs, and statewide needs. Our 2 two houses allow for those oppportunities.
Yes, but only because it reduces the learning curve when they take office. I also believe there are multiple ways to acquire the necessary experience to be a successful representative for ones district, including business/professional, volunteer/community engagement, and fundraising experience.
Recovery from the lasting effects of COVID-19, both physically and economically; healthcare; and job creation. Maine tends to lag behind the rest of the country and region during recoveries. We need to focus our efforts on being pro-active as we move forward.
Respect. They will never always agree, and nor should they, but without respect they will not be able to find a way to work together and nothing will be accomplished. We suffered for 8 years with Paul LePage regularly disrespecting the legislature and nothing was accomplished except causing a deeper divide and more toxic working environment. We must find a way to work together immediately.
Yes, but not to "owe" each other favors. You must build those relationships so you can trust that each other is working with the best intentions. You will not always agree but you have to find a way to work together to more forward. It goes back to respect - if you have if for each other you can find a way to work together.
I favor non-partisan district lines. Gerrymandering has created districts all of the country that gives one party greater influence than another even though they do not have a majority. We need fair, impartial districts boundaries so that our political voices are heard equally.
I would like to be a part of the transportation and/or education committees. Otherwise I am open to any other committee.
I truly respect Mattie Daughtry, running for Maine Senate District 24. She is the current Maine House District 49 Legislator and has done an impressive job advocating for the needs of our community and the state. She is fair, respectful, and passionate.

Also, I have always admired & respected Olympia Snowe, William Cohen, George Mitchell, Angus King, and Margaret Chase Smith. They all have served in Washington, ensured Maine's voice was heard, and worked with the other members of Congress regardless of their party. That is a huge priority for me.
