Aloha, I'm Corinne Solomon and I am running for State House Representative District 20, which includes Diamond Head, and sections of Kahala, Kaimuki, and Kapahulu.
  • Hawaii has the highest cost of living in the nation. One of my top priorities will be to address lowering the cost of living through government reforms. If we do not lower the cost of living, we will continue to have difficulties recruiting teachers and healthcare workers, addressing the homelessness crisis, and more of our friends and family members will have to make the difficult decision to move to the continent because they cannot afford to stay here at home in Hawai'i.
  • I care deeply about our community. I believe in leading by example; if elected I pledge to donate 20% of my salary back to the community.
  • To restore public trust in our government, I will advocate for and support legislative changes to improve government accountability and transparency.
Healthcare, business and economic development, education, housing, public safety
Honesty, integrity, and a passion to serve the people. I see myself as a citizen politician, not a career politician.
My first job was in my family's restaurant. I was nine years old when I started helping out by cleaning tables.
All of the House committees are of interest to me. I am especially interested in the Health, Finance, Agriculture, Economic Development. and Judiciary Committees.
Our legislature has made improvements in financial transparency and accountability, but more work needs to be done in this area to improve integrity and gain the public's trust.
