- Arkansans deserve to know how our money is being spent. Yet during the recent special session the taxpayers paid for, the Republican Supermajority in this state worked to protect their leaders engaged in wrong-doing rather than the interests of Arkansans. They also attacked our freedom to know what what going on within the government that we pay for. The only way to stop this is to oppose these types of politicians is to run and vote against them in our elections. With no one to oppose them, they automatically get the job, no matter how they act or vote.
- Arkansas is a bad place to be sick or have a baby. Why? Around 71 percent of our rural hospitals are operating in the red. If they close, it will leave many Arkansans without health care. We have the second highest infant mortality in the nation. Deaths of mothers is equally unacceptable. Under Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ administration, hundreds of thousands of eligible people were dropped from their health insurance. If you don’t have money to pay a doctor, you can’t be seen and your health risks increase. We should: Expand access to affordable healthcare Fund rural hospitals Write in exceptions to our extreme abortion ban for rape, incest, and health of the mother.
- Public libraries are vital hubs for education, information, and connection. From early literacy programs to job search assistance, public libraries empower individuals of all ages and backgrounds. They provide access to knowledge, foster creativity, and promote lifelong learning. At the core of their mission lies a commitment to free speech. Public libraries stand as bastions of intellectual freedom, offering a sanctuary where diverse voices can be heard. In an era of misinformation and polarization, these institutions remain steadfast in their dedication to open dialogue, critical thinking, and democratic values. As your representative, I pledge unwavering support for our Garland County Library and all public libraries.
Additionally, we need to address pet overpopulation by giving our shelters more resources and removing the barriers to spay & neuter.

- We need to recycle more, and waste less. I want to focus our recycling efforts on those with the biggest net reduction in carbon. Recycling is a skill we should be teaching our children as well as it will become increasingly important in their lifetime.
- We have a teacher shortage. Our surrounding states all pay teachers a much higher teacher salary. Making about 30 percent less than other jobs requiring four year degrees does not send the message we value education. They have earned the raise, all picking up slack from the ongoing shortage in the field.
- We also have a shortage of doctors, creating a healthcare system below that of many other states. We have to renegotiate medicaid reimbursements and make college more affordable and more desirable in the state to attract and retain medical students and doctors. More doctors make it easier, and quicker to be seen by a doctor. I think the COVID pandemic really highlighted that.
