Cortney Niland
Cortney Niland was a member of the El Paso City Council in Texas, representing District 8 from 2011 to 2017.
Niland announced her resignation from the city council on April 4, 2017, but said she would continue to serve until her replacement could be elected. Cissy Lizarraga was elected to replace her in a special runoff election on July 15, 2017.[1][2][3]

2015
The city of El Paso, Texas, held elections for mayor and city council on May 9, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 27, 2015. Five of the eight city council seats were up for election, including Districts 1, 5, 6 and 8. In District 8, incumbent Cortney Niland defeated Joshua Dagda.[4][5]
