Dillard ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Georgia's 4th District. Dillard sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.[2] Candidates wishing to run were required to file by the signature filing deadline of May 25, 2012. The primary elections were held on July 31, 2012. She was defeated in the primary.[3]
