Craig A. Gargotta is a judge on the United States bankruptcy court, Western District of Texas. He was appointed to the court on October 1, 2007.

Education

Judge Gargotta received his undergraduate degree from Texas A & M University and his J.D. from St. Mary's University of San Antonio.[1] He also received a graduate degree from Texas A & M University.[2]

Career

From 1989 to 1990, Gargotta was law clerk to Ronald B. King. Until 2007, he was assistant U.S. attorney in San Antonio, Texas. On October 1, 2007, he became a United States bankruptcy judge.

In addition, he worked as:

  • Contributing Editor, American Bankruptcy Institute Journal, 1993 to 2007;
  • Contributing Editor, The San Antonio Lawyer, 1997 to 2001;
  • Editor-in-Chief, The Federal Lawyer, 2001 to 2008;
  • Adjunct Professor of Legal Writing, St. Mary’s School of Law, 2002 to 2006;
  • President, San Antonio Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, 1996 to 1998.[2]
