Campaign themes

2015

Adams provided the following statement on his campaign website:

Accountability

We pay taxes to fund our school district and cast our vote for School Board Trustees. This means we should expect actual transparency from our school district. There is, too often, a barrier between the tax payer, and the district leadership. One of the most disturbing examples was the recent mishandling of tragic event. An 8 year old special needs student was assaulted by a district employee. The employee was terminated eight days after the fact. The handling of the situation was egregious and disturbing. It took 8 days to inform the parents despite state law mandating incidents must be reported in 48 hours. They then refused to show the video, and allowed the the children to remain in the assailant's care. Allowing the abuser around the victim or any other child for a single second more is unacceptable.

As your Trustee I will be transparent and demand that every SBISD resident have prompt and timely access to all the information afforded them as parents and tax payers. I will never put the interest of the district before the safety of the children, never. As a 30 year educator my priority is always the children above all else.[4]
