I was born in the San Francisco Bay area, but grew up a couple blocks from Lake Harriet. I obtained my BSN and Cal Poly Humboldt, Arcata CA. I worked as an oncology and research nurse at the San Francisco Veterans Medical Center before moving to France for 12 years where I taught in several large Universities and obtained a Masters in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). I returned to the area in 2013 to help with my mother who had advancing dementia. My wife, 3 daughters and I live in the Glenlake area since 2013. For the last 10+ yrs I have worked at HCMC in ambulatory clinics, Hospice and Care Coordination. The whole family has a love for nature, food, music and the arts. I would be happy to share more stories, just ask. Minnetonka, The Twin Cities and Minnesota is such a wonderful area with so much to offer that I am hopeful we can protect what is here and help nurture a healthy and vibrant environment and culture forever.
  • The best run City Council government is not even noticed. We should be able to slowly improve our neighbors lives without getting in the way and without raising taxes. The city doesn't need to make a profit. We just to increase our efficiency and productivity at a pace equal to inflation or even better.
  • The City Council does not need to hire consultants to discover what our constituents want. The city council candidates use their own skills that got them elected in the first place. The city also has some very excellent communication tools, skills and resources to assess our public needs and priorities
  • We have a wonderful city, but we are not in a bubble in space so we need to work with all our neighbors in the region to lift us all up together.
Protecting all residents and visitors civil and human rights. Which freedom of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Of course this means all residents and visitors have a huge responsibility to respect each other's space and freedom too. This is applies to every area, but to use dogs and dog owners. Dog owners must be respectful of people who do not want contact with dogs. The city council should not force all the residents to pay for the construction of fencing that harms our open spaces just to attempt to control a very small number of disrespectful dog owners. City ordinances can be written and enforced that deal strongly with disrespectful dog owners and their dog. People who wish to avoid dogs need to be reasonable.
There are many Doctors, Nurses, and other Caregivers I work with everyday now and in the past when I worked in Hospice and on an ambulance. They maintain their composure in sometimes very difficult situations with sometimes difficult people and they provide care and compassion to people in the moments of highest need
We must be responsible and respectful to all residents and visitors to our city and likewise to each other . We need to truly listen and learn from each other.
A growing sense of love, compassion and gratefulness to our creator and all of the creation we are in.
The first landing on the moon. I was 8 yrs old. My grandfather thought it was a big deal. He rode his horse to California from Kansas when he was 20yrs old, so I guess that is understandable
I was a morning paperboy for the Minneapolis Tribune. From 4th grade to 7th grade I delivered to paperboy before school. My dog walked with me even when it was -40°F. We had fun.
Today, The Choice by Edith Eger. I really liked Huxley's The Island too.
Chauncey Gardiner, or maybe Cool Hand Luke, or someone in Young Frankenstein
Being the best I can be without stressing out about it
Working in Hospice, raising 3 wonderful kids, convincing my wife to keep loving me and learning to speak fluent French
