Opposition

Two of the five seats on the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 3, 2015. The election was held at large.[3][4] The seats held by incumbents Jay F. Chen and Gino Kwok were on the ballot.[5]

Chen did not file to run for re-election, ensuring at least one newcomer would join the board. Kwok faced five challengers: Herbert Chin, Jeffrey De La Torre, Dionicio Guido, Klaus Hornell and Martin Medrano.[1] Kwok won his bid for re-election, and Medrano won the open seat.[6]

Craig Liu originally filed to run in this election, but he withdrew from the race.[7]
