Craig Nakamura
Craig H. Nakamura was a judge on the Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals. He was nominated to the court by former Republican Governor Linda Lingle in January 2004 and assumed office on April 8, 2004.[1] He served as chief judge from September 2009 to March 2018.[2] He retired in March 2018.[3]
Education
Nakamura received his undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii in 1978, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School, graduating cum laude in 1981.[2]
Career
After law school, Nakamura served as a law clerk for U.S. Circuit Judge Herbert Choy. He then worked as an associate attorney with the law firm of Goodsill, Anderson, Quinn & Stifel. Then, in 1986, Nakamura became an assistant U.S. attorney and held this position until his appointment to the Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals.[2]
