An effort to recall Mayor Craig Young and city council member Tom Lindsey in Yorba Linda, California from their positions was launched in 2014.[1] Young and Lindsey were not recalled.[2]
Recall proponent arguments
Recall supporters cite as grounds for recall the targeted officials' decision not to consider a moratorium on new housing developing as city officials discussed lowering housing densities on the west side of the city.[1]
Officials' responses
In response to the recall effort, Lindsey said, "Any recall of council members does not change the law and will not address the issue for which Yorba Lindans thought they were signing. I am committed to fighting this recall and campaigning for re-election in November, because Yorba Linda needs a leader that will fight for its fiscal, legal and quality-of-life needs."[1]
