I am currently an At-Large Mount Dora City Councilmember as well as a small business owner. I have owned my independent bookstore for nine years in Downtown Mount Dora. I have a Bachelor's in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration both from Stetson University. In my free time I enjoy reading, quilting, going to the gym and walking my 3 rescue dogs. I have lived in District 31 for more than 20 years and have immersed myself in my community. I volunteer at our local food pantry. Since Covid-19 I have sewn masks for my friends and neighbors and most recently have been a part of Leadership Lake Class of 2020. I am passionate about public education, the environment and serving my community.
  • Experience - I am the only candidate that is an elected official. I am proud that I fulfilled every one of the campaign issues from my 2018 City Council race including policies to increase public safety and move infrastructure expenses to future growth rather than current residents by supporting long term bonding. Last year I successfully pushed to lower our millage rate.
  • Education - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration both from Stetson University
  • Energy - I have worked tirelessly to serve the residents of Mount Dora while running my bookstore, attending all community events, volunteering and now running for State House. The busier I am, the better I am.
Education - Environment - Employment - Affordable Housing

Public schools need our attention. Teacher pay and benefits, classroom size, living wages for support staff and teacher involvement in the decision making processes.

District 31 is home to some of the most beautiful parks and waterways in Florida but we are not taking care of them as well as we should. District 31 needs to focus on connecting to the Coast to Coast bike trail, we are the missing link. We can focus on renewable energy throughout the District as well as keeping a close eye on air and water quality.

We need to create sustainable jobs. We can attract essential businesses to the District and create jobs through government projects.

Affordable housing is needed throughout our state but particularly in District 31. We need to allocate funds for government assistance with affordable housing. This would be a great opportunity for private public partnerships.
Attentive, ethical, good listener, hard-working, open-minded.
Honest, hard-working, team player, great listener and open-minded.
I remember when the Challenger blew up. I was nine years old and in fourth grade and Mr. Carione had the whole class sitting on the floor in front of the television.
A Land Remembered by Patrick Smith. A historically accurate novel that tells the tale of one family in Florida back to the 1800's. A must read for every Floridian.
Most definitely. The most important benefit of having government experience is cutting down on the learning curve. I have two years experience on Mount Dora's City Council and have gone through more than one budget process. As the only candidate with any government experience I'll be ready to get started on day one.
Absolutely. I have done this my entire life. From the time I was in school I was the kid that went over and talked to the kid standing alone. I have always built bridges. I have always been a good listener and attentive to every person's opinion and I will do the same in the State Legislature.
