I'm a lifelong wesider, professional tenured educator, librarian, public servant, activist, and mother. I will bring my knowledge and pride for the Westside into my service on the Indianapolis City Council. I have experience serving the students of Indianapolis since 2009, and even serve on the Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees.
  • -Increase the number of jobs with a livable wage in our city
  • -Improve communications and relationships between our public safety initiatives and neighborhoods
  • -Invest in infrastructure projects on the Westside
As a mother, I recognize just how critical it is to keep our neighborhoods safe, while building the Indianapolis of the Future for our children. I have a track record of partnering with community and private organizations to reach a common goal. From grant writing to managing large budgets, I have the 21st century leadership experience we need to lead our district for the next four years.
The City Council is a uniquely local affair. As a life-long resident of the Westside, I know the specific needs and desires of the community simply by listening and participating as a citizen for the last three decades.
I was raised by a single mom. She worked multiple jobs just to make ends meet. She taught me how strong and powerful the will of a woman can be. She serves in our community in thankless ways, and truly inspired me to become the teacher and public servant I am today.
Listening skills and the ability to help people compromise on the visions for the future of our city.
I think public service can take many forms. As public school teacher, I think I've spent years performing services for our city's students and their families. It is in that same spirit I hope to soon serve as District 6 City Councillor.
