Improving Education: Children are the most prized members of our society, as evidenced by the laws our society has put in place to protect them. Laws that range from child labor law, statutory laws and laws that require our children, while being transported in private vehicles to be placed in certified and tested child safety seats. We go to great lengths to protect our children and I believe as a society we should go to great lengths to educate them from early childhood on to early adulthood. The fate of our society rests in our present ability to provide educational opportunities to the next generation of working Texans if we want them to be the next generation of engineers, lawyers, doctors, inventors, scientists and tax payers. The key to sustaining and improving our standard of living is to ensure those coming after us receive more education than ourselves. By ensuring that each child has access to improved education, reducing the impact their socio-economic status in life has on their ability to learn, increasing the level at which our children learn and the compensation for their educators, we will be setting each child up for success thereby accomplishing our collective goal for our most prized societal members to become the leaders of tomorrow. Economic Stability: Being economically stable is the American Dream. In order to have a strong free market economy there needs to constantly be small transactions always taking place. Whether those transactions are at the locally owned restaurants, your local grocer, or a ball game the more disposable income we have to spend the bigger and better our economy becomes. I want to bolster the local and state economy by ensuring each and every Texan receives a competitive salary, which allows them to have disposable income and will reduce the number of Texans seeking assistance from Government services Civil Liberties: The Texas Bill of Rights states that all political power is inherent in the people and we all are entitled to not only equal rights, but equity under the law. I will give the political power back to the people of Texas and I will defend the rights we are inherently entitled to, not only under the law but as persons in the pursuit of happiness. Texans need to come together to take a stand for equal pay for our mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, and aunts and ensure our neighborhoods and children are safe from over policing, and the rights granted to us by the constitution are protected.[1] |
