An effort to recall City Councilman Curtis Corvinus did not go to a vote in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho. Corvinus pled guilty to felony grand theft and was removed from office.[1][2]

Recall supporters

Recall organizers said they initiated a recall after Corvinus allegedly stole $3,668.53 from the Horseshoe Bend Fire Protection District during his time as fire chief. Organizers filed the petition for approval with Boise County on March 22, 2023.[1]

One of the recall's supporters is former Boise County Commissioner and former volunteer Horseshoe Bend firefighter Ryan Stirm.

Recall opponents

Corvinus did not respond to requests for comment by KTVB.[1]

For a recall election to be scheduled, organizers would have needed to collect signatures from at least 20% of the electors registered to vote at the last general city election held in Horseshoe Bend for the election of officers. Corvinus was removed from office before the 75 days the recall organizers had to collect signatures had passed.[1][2]
