Curtis Westley Bigsbee
Curtis Bigsbee was a 2015 Democratic candidate for District 5 of the Indianapolis, Indiana City Council. Curtis Westley Bigsbee lost the general election on November 3, 2015.
Biography
Bigsbee is from Indianapolis, Indiana. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Marian University. In his time at the City of Lawrence Police Department, he has held the following positions: patrolman, detective, captain of operations, captain of administration and deputy chief of police. He was in the Indiana Army National Guard from 1997 to 2005.[1]
Elections
2015
The city of Indianapolis, Indiana, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A partisan primary election took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for major party candidates who wished to run in this election was February 6, 2015. The filing deadline for independent or minor party candidates was July 15, 2015.[2] Twenty-five city council seats were up for election. Indianapolis's four at-large seats were not up for election, because those seats were scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.[3]
In the Republican primary election for District 5, Jeffery William Coats ran unopposed. In the Democratic primary, Curtis Westley Bigsbee also ran unopposed. Coats defeated Bigsbee in the general election.[4] Incumbent Virginia Cain (R) did not run for re-election.[5]
