Cleveland Municipal School District, Ohio, Issue 49, Bond and Tax Measure (November 2024):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported:

  • authorizing the school district to issue up to $295 million in bonds, with revenue going to fund improving school district buildings, and requiring an estimated property tax levy of $93 per $100,000 in assessed value; and
  • levying a tax of $301 for each $100,000 in appraised value.

A "no" vote opposed:

  • authorizing the school district to issue up to $295 million in bonds, with revenue going to fund improving school district buildings, and requiring an estimated property tax levy of $93 per $100,000 in assessed value; and

Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Issue 55, Cigarette Tax Measure (November 2024):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported authorizing a tax on cigarettes at a rate of 3.5 cents per cigarette for 10 years.

A "no" vote opposed authorizing a tax on cigarettes at a rate of 3.5 cents per cigarette for 10 years.

Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Issue 26, Property Tax Renewal for Health and Human Services Measure (March 2024):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported this measure to renew a property tax of $131 per $100,000 of assessed value for eight years to provide funding for health and human or social services.

A "no" vote opposed this measure to renew a property tax of $131 per $100,000 of assessed value for eight years to provide funding for health and human or social services.

Cleveland, Ohio, Issue 38, People's Budget Initiative (November 2023):  ✖

A "yes" vote supported creating a participatory budgeting process, called the People's Budget, in Cleveland, allowing residents to propose and vote on city-wide and neighborhood-specific projects using money allocated to the People's Budget Fund.

A "no" vote opposed estabishing the People's Budget process in Cleveland.

Cuyahoga Community College District, Ohio, Issue 5, Property Tax Increase and Renewal Measure (November 2023):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported renewing the existing property tax of 2.1 mills and increases the rate by 0.4 mills to a total of 2.5 mills ($67 per $100,000 assessed value) for ten years to fund the Cuyahoga Community College District's operating costs.

A "no" vote opposed renewing the existing property tax of 2.1 mills and increases the rate by 0.4 mills to a total of 2.5 mills ($67 per $100,000 assessed value) for ten years to fund the Cuyahoga Community College District's operating costs.

A "yes" vote supported continuing a property tax of $13 per $100,000 of assessed value for five years to provide funding for the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority.

A "no" vote opposed continuing a property tax of $13 per $100,000 of assessed value for five years to provide funding for the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority.

Cleveland Metropolitan Park District, Ohio, Issue 5, Property Tax Measure (November 2022):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported enacting a property tax of $270 per $100,000 of assessed value to provide funding for the Cleveland Metropolitan Parks District.

A "no" vote opposed enacting a property tax of $270 per $100,000 of assessed value to provide funding for the Cleveland Metropolitan Parks District.

Cleveland, Ohio, Issue 24, Community Police Commission and Police Oversight Initiative (November 2021):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported amending the city charter to make changes related to police oversight, discipline, and policies, including:

  • the creation of the Community Police Commission to—together with the Civilian Police Review Board—oversee police conduct investigations and discipline, report and advise about police-community relations, and oversee police training and recruitment;
  • requirements that the commission be demographically representative of the city; and
  • changes to membership qualifications and requirements for the Civilian Police Review Board to include attorneys with experience defending victims of police brutality, give the mayor instead of the police chief the authority to remove board members, and require the board's budget to equal at least 1% of the police department's budget.

A "no" vote opposed this charter amendment to change provisions related to police oversight and discipline, including changes to the structure of and authority over the Civilian Police Review Board and the creation of a Community Police Commission.

Cleveland Municipal School District, Ohio, Issue 68, Property Tax Renewal and Increase Measure (November 2020):  ✔

A "yes" vote supported renewing and increasing the property tax for 10 years to fund the Cleveland Municipal School District at a rate of $2,000 per $100,000 of the assessed property value (an increase of $500).

A "no" vote opposed renewing and increasing the property tax to fund the Cleveland Municipal School District, thereby allowing it to expire in 2020.

Issue 6: Cuyahoga County County Council Confirmation Requirement for Sheriff Appointment Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of requiring county council confirmation of the county executive's appointment to sheriff and redefining the requirements for the sheriff's term, removal process, powers, and duties.

Issue 20: Cleveland Charter Amendment Concerning Eligibility to Run for Office Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of establishing that in order to run for city office, a candidate must have been an elector in Cleveland for a minimum of 12 months, must file nominating petitions at least 90 days before the primary election, and must use standard forms of the Secretary of State.
A no vote was a vote against establishing certain rules for qualifying as a candidate for city office and enacting filing deadlines.

Issue 21: Cleveland Require the Mayor's Budget Estimate to be Posted Online Amendment Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of requiring that the mayor's estimate for the city budget be made available online on the city website or available in print upon request and eliminating the requirement that the mayor must make 1,000 printed copies of the budget estimate.
A no vote was a vote against requiring that the mayor's estimate for the city budget be made available online on the city website or available in print upon request, thereby continuing the requirement that the mayor's office must make 1,000 printed copies of the budget estimate.

Issue 22: Cleveland Administrative Matters Amendment Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of making the following changes to the city charter:
  • updating Required Provisions of Rules of the Civil Service Commission;
  • removing the grading of classifications; and
  • clarifying the language relative to classification, assessment, eligibility, and/or rejection of candidates for appointments and/or promotions in the classified service of the city.
A no vote was a vote against making amendments to the city charter related to city administration.
