Two School District Levy Renewal measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the school districts of Cuyahoga Valley and Independence which are in Cuyahoga County. The Cuyahoga Valley school district is also in Summit County.
Both measures were approved
The Cuyahoga Valley measure sought to renew the current school levy which is set at a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a period of five years in order to continue to pay for current expenses in the district.
Cuyahoga

Summit
- YES 19,131 (64.59%)
- NO 10,488 (35.41%)[1]
The Independence measure sought to renew the current school levy which is set at a rate of $.12 per $100 of assessed property value for a period of five years in order to continue to pay for repairing, maintaining and equipping school facilities in the district.[2]

Cuyahoga Valley
The question on the ballot:
| A renewal of a tax for the benefit of the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, an Ohio Vocational School District, for the purpose of current expenses at a rate not exceeding 1 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 10 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[4] |
Independence
The question on the ballot:
| A renewal of a tax for the benefit of the Independence Local School District for the purpose of constructing, reconstructing, repairing, and maintaining all present and future buildings and sites, furnishing and equipping school buildings, replacement of present and additional educational equipment and replacement and/or acquisition of other equipment including school buses and other vehicles at a rate not exceeding 1.25 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 12.5 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[4] |
