Douaihy received the endorsement of The Times-Tribune on October 29, 2013.[2]

Issues

2013

Douaihy's appointment to the board was opposed by board members Kathleen McGuigan and Jason Shrive in Lakawanna County Court. McGuigan and Shrive argued that the notice for the April 5, 2013, special board meeting advertised selection of a replacement for O'Shea without mentioning that O'Shea was resigning from the board. The case went to the county court because the District Attorney and the Attorney General of Pennsylvania did not take up legal action.[1] McGuigan and Shrive dropped their case in August to ensure that O'Shea's seat would be on the November ballot.[3]
