Cyndi has been caring for citizens since 1978 when she received her registered nursing degree. As a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine/Harris County Hospital District School of Nurse Anesthesia in 1983, she became an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse ( APRN) ,Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist ( C.R.N.A.). In that capacity she has delivered care to many individuals, spending 39 years at nonprofit hospitals as well as having a private clinical practice, leadership and managerial experience.
Being very active in her professional community she is a member of Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetists (TXANA), and American Association of Nurse Anesthetists serving on numerous committees and boards from 1985-2015. Among those include being President of TXANA an organization of over 5000 CRNAs in Texas.
An Arlington resident for over 35 years she is married to Michael Golden a corporate pilot, has 2 sons and 6 grandchildren.
Volunteer activities include being a special consultant and advisor for 10 years to AISD Family and Consumer Science department at Martin High School, and 7 years as a liaison to Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses (TPAPN). • The needs and voice of the citizens should be addressed with the same interest and enthusiasm as the needs of big business. We have done a great job of attracting, retaining and promoting big businesses and tourism to our city. We need to also address the concerns of the persons who live , work and pay taxes here.
  • Fiscal responsibility insures that our tax dollars are spent wisely. Reviewing our processes to streamline as well as looking at fresh ideas and approaches to solving problems insures the hard earned dollars of residents are respected. Throwing money at a problem doesn't necessarily fix it.
  • When city staff, departments along with residents and nonprofits work collaboratively in planning and resolution of issues the result is superior . Working together with stakeholders difficult decisions are approached with input from all, rather than from the top down.
I'm very passionate about including the needs and desires of residents in planning programs and policies. Community outreach to explain and gather information regarding proposals is important. Inclusion of ALL groups and respectful listening makes for greater success in implementation for any project or initiative.

Housing is a particular interest as our city has experienced rapid growth and the housing availability has dwindled. I'm especially interested in keeping property taxes low and helping persons stay in their homes. Arlington is landlocked which makes many choices unavailable to us. Yet, the growth continues and must be addressed. We must do what is right for our community and approach this issue thoughtfully. There are no easy answers.
Ethics. Transparency. Accountability. Work ethic. Passion for service.
Without these you are doing the citizens who elected you a disservice
Superior work ethic . I've missed 2 days of work in 39 years. Being on City Council is a big time commitment and a full time job.

Passion for people and ability to relate to them.
Common Sense.
Experience in management with real accountability.

Commitment to do the right thing for citizens in spite of outside pressures.
7 Habits of Highly Effective People
It helped me determine priorities and establish boundaries that have guided me throughout my life.
The aspect of current and future development and how the city participates in this process affects all citizens in many ways. This includes council approval of zoning permits, transportation initiatives, tax incentives for businesses, budget allocation, infrastructure support and others. These all
directly effect the daily lives of citizens who live here, although few participate in the process.
Not necessarily. The skill set of other occupations and life circumstances often translate to the skill set needed for public office. The best asset is to be hard working.
Critical thinking skills to examine and assess issues and situations determining risk/benefit ratios. Listening skills and open mindedness to view issues from the perspective of those who disagree with you.

People skills to relate to persons from all walks of life with true empathy.

Business and management skills to understand and participate in processes.
