Borbas' campaign website highlighted the following issues:
“ |
Why I am Running Like many in our community, I am frustrated with the business-as-usual politics in Springfield. I’m not a politician and I’ve never run for office before; I’m a mom, small business owner, and community volunteer. I believe deeply in the value of service to the community and putting politics aside to work together to solve our toughest problems. As the owner of a technology consulting firm, I’ve helped businesses of all sizes, from Fortune 500 companies to mom-and-pop shops to cutting-edge start-ups, increase their bottom line and streamline their operations. I understand firsthand what it takes to help businesses grow, thrive, and create new good-paying jobs in our communities. As a working mom, I know that family budgets are tight and middle-class families are struggling. Our property taxes keep increasing even as our home values decline or remain the same. I support meaningful property tax relief to give families much-needed relief and will fight for a property tax freeze. Public service should not be about serving oneself or catering to the special interests – it’s about serving our neighbors and creating a better world for our children. I hope to earn your support, vote, and most importantly, your trust, as I launch my campaign for State Representative of the 45th District. I hope to see you and your family soon as I go door-to-door, and encourage you to reach out to me anytime with your questions, concerns or ideas for the future of our state.[8] |
