On November 2, 2010, Hiner won election to the Montana House of Representatives. She did not have any opposition in the June 8 primary and no one has filed to run against her in the general election. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.

On November 4, 2008, Cynthia Hiner won the seat to the Montana House of Representatives for District 85, receiving 2,020 votes.
