My name is Cynthia Lampkins. I have been married to my husband for almost 17 years, and we are proud to be a blended family. I have been a foster parent for over 20 years and have welcomed more than 30 children into my home during that time. Professionally, I have worked for Nationwide Insurance for 10 years and have been promoted to various positions approximately every two years. Additionally, I spent over 20 years with the City of Gahanna as an Accounting Clerk and later as a Payroll Analyst. Currently, I serve as the Assistant Fiscal Officer for Mifflin Township. I am a strong advocate for adhering to policies, laws, and procedures. I stand for all students, emphasizing the importance of fairness and support for all in education. Additionally, I demand accountability in fiscal spending, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively for the benefit of our community. I believe that every child deserves access to a quality education and a safe learning environment, and I am committed to making a positive impact in their lives. My experience as a foster parent has deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by children and families, and I strive to advocate for their needs and well-being.
  • Commitment to Responsible Fiscal Management for Our Schools As a candidate for the school board, I am dedicated to ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability within our district. My experience as an Assistant Fiscal Officer for Mifflin Township equips me with the expertise to implement transparent financial practices and efficient budgeting. As a team player, I am eager to learn the intricacies of school board operations. Together, we can maximize resources, explore innovative funding solutions, and create a sustainable educational environment that empowers our children for future success. Let’s work together to secure a bright future for our students.
  • Championing Academic Excellence for Every Student I believe that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive and achieve at the highest level. I firmly believe that integrity, commitment, loyalty, patience, and understanding are essential qualities for effective leadership. Collaborating with all stakeholders is vital to create a comprehensive and inclusive approach to education. I will ensure that every voice is heard and valued, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility. Being accountable to the people I serve is not just a duty, but a commitment to transparency and trust. Together, we can create a stronger educational environment for our students and community.
My first job was at McDonald's when I was just 16, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience! I’ll never forget the time I accidentally burned myself with the french fry basket. A regular customer, a friendly mature man who always brightened my shifts, spotted my wrapped-up arm and joked that it was because my boyfriend kissed me there! To this day, I still have a scar from that fry basket, and people love to tease me, asking if I play tic-tac-toe on my arm. It's a fun reminder of my first job and all the memorable moments that came with it!
My desire is to thoroughly understand the individual needs of students, staff, faculty, parents, and the wider community. I will advocate for and support the development of inclusive educational programs that cater to diverse learning styles and backgrounds. This includes expanding resources for special education, English language learners, and gifted programs, ensuring that every student has an opportunity to thrive. Additionally, I believe in providing ongoing training programs for teachers and staff to effectively address the needs of our diverse student population. Together, we can create an equitable and supportive educational environment for all.
I am proud to have instilled in my three biological children the importance of education. I raised three children, all of whom have earned their bachelor's degrees, and one has even achieved a master's degree. Throughout the majority of their adolescent years, I was a single mom, which underscores my commitment to their education and future success.
