Biography
Cynthia Paschen earned a high school diploma from Ames High School and a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in 1982. Her career experience includes working as a journalist and at the Ames Public Library.[1][2]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Herman C. Quirmbach defeated Cynthia Oppedal Paschen in the Democratic primary, while Jeremy Davis was unopposed in the Republican primary. Quirmbach faced Davis in the general election.[3][4] Incumbent Quirmbach defeated challenger Davis in the general election.[5]
