Cynthia Sweeney
Cynthia P. Sweeney is a former Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Sullivan 8 from 2012 to 2014.
Sweeney served in the House previously, representing Hillsborough 62 from 2000 to 2004 and Sullivan 5 from 2008 to 2010.[1]

Elections for the New Hampshire House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Incumbent Cynthia Sweeney was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Thomas Laware was unopposed in the Republican primary. Sweeney and Laware faced off in the general election.[2] Laware defeated Sweeney.[3]

Sweeney won election in the 2012 election for New Hampshire House of Representatives, Sullivan 8. Sweeney was unopposed in the September 11 primary and defeated incumbent Thomas Laware (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5]

Sweeney failed to advance past the November 2, 2010, general election.
Sweeney advanced past the September 14 primary election. She faced incumbent Jim McClammer (D), Stevem Smith (R), and Thomas Laware (R) in the November 2 general election.

On November 4, 2008, Sweeney finished first for the two-seat Sullivan 5 District in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, receiving 1,623 votes, ahead of Democrat Jim McClammer (1,586), and Republicans Steven Smith (1,028), Russell Pope (964), Lois Corcoran (259), and Others (6).[6]

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
