I’m Cynthia Marie Scaturico, a wife, mom, and advocate ready to fight for Virginia’s hardworking families. Raised in Lincoln, Illinois, I grew up in a blue-collar home, sweeping shingles for my dad’s roofing company at 12 and juggling three jobs as a high school senior—hard work is in my blood. With a Business Administration degree and years as a food manufacturing supervisor, I bring lean management and safety know-how to protect your tax dollars and freedoms. I’m passionate about defending your Right to Work, securing homeschooling, and ending human trafficking—values I live out as First Vice President of the Hampton Roads Republican Women’s Club. My husband, three daughters, six grandkids, and our three dogs keep me grounded, and I love being outdoors. I’m no politician—I’m a mentor-style leader built on trust and care, here to make Richmond work for you. Let’s build a stronger, safer Virginia together.
  • Education & Parental Rights I’m running to reform education in our public schools to focus on academics, not gender, racial, or social theories. Kids need core skills such as reading, math, and critical thinking to succeed. Education should prepare students for the future, not burden their present with divisive ideologies. I’ll ensure parents have full access to curricula and can opt out of objectionable content. Parental consent for medical or sensitive school decisions and activities is non-negotiable. I’ll push for safe schools, well-funded classrooms, and empowered teachers.
  • Economic Development & Right to Work I’ll preserve VA’s Right to Work laws, protecting workers’ freedom to choose on unions and keeping our economy competitive. I’ll fight union-backed threats to ensure job growth and higher wages. To make Hampton Roads the East Coast’s manufacturing powerhouse, I’ll invest in rail lines, ports, roadways, and airports, leveraging our underutilized waterways. These upgrades will attract businesses and create jobs. I’ll cut taxes and red tape to boost manufacturing.
  • Combating Human Trafficking I’ll fight human trafficking with unyielding resolve in Hampton Roads. I’ll boost funding for police, ensuring robust task forces and specialized training to hunt down traffickers and buyers. Tougher penalties will send a clear message: predators face justice. Victims will get shelters, counseling, and job training to rebuild lives, with coerced records expunged. I’ll fund targeted awareness campaigns in schools to protect kids from online traps. By tackling poverty smartly, we’ll shield the vulnerable.
As a candidate and volunteer with the Anchor Project, my passion for public policy centers on combating human trafficking, strengthening education, and boosting economic opportunity in Hampton Roads. My work with Garden Gate Ranch, Hope for Justice, CAASA, and the Hampton Roads Republican Women’s Club’s Caring for America project, hosting events like Gridshock screenings, fuels my drive to fight human trafficking.
As a conservative Christian, I believe the most important characteristics for an elected official are integrity, servant leadership, and commitment to faith-based values. Integrity means honesty, keeping promises, and standing firm on principles to earn voters’ trust. Servant leadership requires putting constituents first, listening to families, and serving humbly without seeking personal gain. Commitment to faith-based values guides policies that protect life, strengthen families and preserve freedoms.
I believe an elected official’s core responsibilities are representing the people, defending freedoms, and governing with faith-driven integrity. First, serve working families by addressing needs like job creation, lower taxes, and affordable living. Second, protect constitutional liberties, ensuring government doesn’t encroach on rights like free speech or gun ownership. Third, prioritize community safety by supporting law enforcement and tackling crime for secure neighborhoods. Finally, steward public resources wisely, investing in infrastructure and services without waste. Accountable to God and voters, not special interests, you must lead with principle.
