D.J. Wagner is a judge for the Deaf Smith County Court in Deaf Smith County, Texas. He was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a four-year term commencing on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2018.[1]

Wagner ran for election to the Deaf Smith County Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 31.1 percent of the vote. He competed against Romeo Ramirez, Major Barela, Luis Zamora, Dennis Detten, Christopher Trusty and Ron Muller.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, Wagner faced Detten in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. He won, earning 56.8 percent of the vote.
General: He defeated Margarita Mona Hernandez in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 83 percent of the vote.

Career
Before his election to the Deaf Smith County Court, Wagner worked as a safety director of Panhandle Express LLC, a transportation firm based in Hereford, Texas.[3]
