Douglas Metcalf is a judge for Division 16 of the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona. He assumed office in 2013. His current term ends on January 1, 2029.

Metcalf ran for re-election for the Division 16 judge of the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona. He won in the retention election on November 5, 2024.

Metcalf was appointed to this position by Governor Jan Brewer (R) on November 6, 2013, to replace retired Judge Howard Hantman.[1]

Biography

D. Douglas Metcalf received his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Iowa in 1985, his J.D. from Drake University Law School in 1987, and his LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University in 1991.[1] Prior to his appointment, his career experience included the following:

  • 2000-2013: Partner, Lewis and Roca
  • 2000-2002: Partner, Brown & Bain (merged with Lewis and Roca in 2002)
  • 1996-2000: Associate, Brown & Bain
  • 1990-1996: Trial attorney, U.S. Department of Justice
  • 1987-1990: Law clerk, U.S. Tax Court[1]
