D. Joseph Kilgore is a judge for the Sixth Chancery District (Seat 1) of Mississippi.[1] He was appointed to the bench in July 2010 by Governor Haley Barbour later to be elected to a full term the following November.[2][3] He was re-elected on November 4, 2014, for a term that begins in 2015 and expires in 2018.[4][5]

Education

Kilgore received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi. He went on to earn his J.D. there as well.[2]

Career

Prior to his judicial appointment in 2010, Kilgore worked as a partner with the law firm of Alford, Thomas and Kilgore, gaining additional experience as a special master in chancery court and as a youth court referee in Kemper County. He also worked as a board attorney for the Philadelphia Public School District and for Philadelphia Utilities.[2]
