D. Kent Savoie is a judge on the Third Circuit Court of Appeal in Louisiana. Savoie ran for election to the court in 2014 and won in the primary election on November 4. His term commenced on January 1, 2015, and will end on December 31, 2024.[1][2]

Savoie was previously a judge of the 14th Judicial District, Division A in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.[3] He was first elected to this position on April 7, 2001, and was re-elected without opposition to two consecutive six-year terms.[4][5][6]

Savoie received his B.A. from McNeese State University and his J.D. from the Loyola Law School in New Orleans.[4]

Career

Before he entered the judiciary for the 14th Judicial District, Savoie worked as a lawyer in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with a focus on municipal law and trust and estates.[7]
