I have been married to Randy for 29 years. I have 2 stillborn sons and 4 living sons who graduated from KISD. I have been actively involved in KISD and my community for 15 years where I regularly attend and speak at board meetings and serve on committees. I have 20 years PTA leadership experience. I have served on the Board of Directors for M.E.N.D. (501c3) for 25 years and serve as Vice President. I am currently a Parent Advocate for Special Needs Families across Texas, where I assist families in ARD and 504 meetings as well as with paperwork, accommodations, and resolutions.
- Our district needs to be transparent with where our money is being spent. Further, we need to better communicate expenditures. Budget line items need to be clearly communicated so stakeholders know where tax dollars are going. I would like to see more conversations and well thought out questions about financial expenditures during school board meetings.
- Campus morale is at an all-time low. Our teachers and support staff are the life force of our district, but they are not supported to the level they need. We need to listen to their needs and provide support for them to be able to teach our children. Simple things like providing proper equipment, information and resources when needed (rather than weeks later) are vital to our district's success.
- We need to make sure students of all levels are given a fair and appropriate education regardless of their level of needs. The days of our marginalized populations being shuffled campuses to save money need to end. The days of discontinuing services to save a dollar need to end. Parents need to be informed of any changes in their child's support or services. Further, they need to feel empowered to properly advocate for their children.

Transparency & Accountability My mom and dad are my role models. They have been married for nearly 60 years. My dad is almost 80 years old and still works full-time. Not out of necessity but because he is still active. My mother instilled in me the importance of being a homemaker. I want to be like my mom and dad when I grow up!
Elected officials should exhibit transparency which eliminates behind closed door deals and secrecy. They should communicate regularly and clearly to their constituents about their decisions. They should desire to hold themselves, each other and the district administration accountable for decisions. They should be engaged across the district in each of the municipalities represented in the district.
I am honest and trustworthy. If I do not have the answer, I will do my very best to find it. I am passionate about advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves. I strive to give my best effort in everything I do.
It is a board member's responbility to respond to stakeholders' questions and concerns in a timely manner. A board member should do their due diligence in reviewing board agendas prior to meeting to formulate thought provoking questions to pose in open session for the public to see. It is for elected board members to hold administrators accountable for their decisions and areas they oversee. It is for board members to hold each other accountable. It is a board member's responsibility to increase morale and district pride through attending various campus events.
I want my sons to know how much I cherish and adore them. I want them to know I spent my life trying to make theirs better.

A trustee should be knowledgeable of district policy and procedure. They should be prepared for board meetings and ask thought provoking questions to administrative leaders. They need to partner with district administration to ensure the best educational experience for students. They should hold leadership accountable and help maintain fiscal responsibility. A trustee should be present and involved in the community.
Taxpayers, parents, school staff and the Keller ISD community at large.
The way to understand is to ask questions. I want to glean as much information as possible by asking questions. Then take what I have learned to administration. Keeping a finger on the pulse of the community is the best way to know how to help.
I want to strengthen the relationships between the municipalities that make up the district which was made clear with the Basswood Elementary incident. I need to create relationships with city leaders who represent the areas of the KISD community. We need to have strong relationships with campus and district PTAs. We also need to have strong relationships with neighboring districts as their decisions can impact outlying areas of ours. Further, I want to establish good relationships with teachers and principals across the district.
When students are engaged, and kids come to class, you know there is good teaching happening.
We have wonderful advance learning opportunities and I would love to see those expand. Also, our FFA/Agriculture programs are wonderful and I would also love to see these programs grow. I want to see better opportunities for the Special Education students, especially regarding the Adult Transition program.
Detailed line-item budgets need to be presented to stakeholders. Trustees should ask MORE questions to department heads and administrators.
Every child and staff member has a right to feel safe on a school campus. We must spare no expense in training and safety measures.
Every high school should have an intervention counselor available to give support and parent consent resources.
I would like to better educate myself before I determine what policy changes I would or would not makes.

Back to basics. Pencil, paper, and textbooks. We must allow our trained educators to teach using creativity and collaboration and not by screen time and videos.
Our district handled it poorly. I do not support mask or vaccine mandates.
Honesty and integrity is the way to build relationships
We must pay our teachers and paraprofessionals what they are worth. Until we pay at the scale of surrounding districts, we will continue losing quality educators.
