Zhang earned his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from West Chester University in 2010, his M.P.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 and will earn his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2014. His professional experience includes working as an adjunct professor at Delaware County Community College, as a webmaster for Philadelphia City Paper, as an E-commerce Manager for Team Pro-Motion, as the owner of APro Connect Educational Software and DafanZ Tuning Suspension Shop, as a web developer and IT consultant and as a professional motorcycle racer.[1]

Elections for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Incumbent Margo Davidson defeated Billy Smith and Dafan Zhang in the Democratic primary, while Saud Siddiqui was unopposed in the Republican primary. Davidson defeated Siddiqui in the general election.[3][4][5]
